2024 Featured Destination #8: Walther Handmade

Updated: Jul 26

Every day leading up to the Tour, we're going to feature a different 2024 Yarn Tour Destination on the blog! Read about each shop in their own words, take a virtual tour, and get excited for your fiber adventure! Today we're visiting Walther Handmade in Harriman, TN.

Walther Handmade welcomes crafters of all kinds and skill levels. We love to sit and talk about your latest crochet, knit, or weaving project! We celebrate the crafting journey and want to provide you with access to quality matierlas and tools that you need to craft beautiful items. We're a welcoming place with a friendly atmosphere, where crafters can come together and support one another as we all discover the joy of crafting!

We strive to carry a curated collection of yarns, notions, and tools that you will enjoy using - whether it's to make a dishcloth or an heirloom shawl. We feature a wide array of quality, natural-fiber yarns appropriate for crochet, knitting, and weaving. We also feature an array of unique gifts that will appeal to crafters and non-crafters, from fair-trade baskets to locally-made soap to witty stickers. We love finding items that are made in the USA and that support other local and family-owned businesses.

I am very excited about our upcoming events and to share new yarns with Tourists! We are having a Pop-Up Shop with indie-dyer, Indigo Guinea Fiber, from Indiana. The first half of the Tour, we are hosting a Trunk Show with Forbidden Fiber Company, and the second half of the Tour, we are hosting a trunk show with Interlacements Yarns.
