2024 Featured Destination #3: Smoky Mountain Spinnery

Every day leading up to the Tour, we're going to feature a different 2024 Yarn Tour Destination on the blog! Read about each shop in their own words, take a virtual tour, and get excited for your fiber adventure! Our next stop is Smoky Mountain Spinnery, located in Gatlinburg

Smoky Mountain Spinnery has been in business since 2000, offering 24 years of creative growth. As we started out as a spinning and weaving shop, it is perfectly natural for us to focus on the art of spinning at the stairway entrance (west end) and weaving at the handicap entrance or ramp (east end). In between the two entrances are the other creative arts we dwell on: the incredible rug hooking (and wool applique) alcove, and an amazing variety of natural yarns and fibers for those who prefer to knit, crochet, wet felt, needle felt or dye.

Smoky Mountain Spinnery covers a multitude of fiber arts - from knitting and crocheting to spinning, weaving, rug hooking, felting and dyeing. Our staff each has a love of at least one of the fiber arts and a knowledge of most of them.
