2024 Featured Destination #17: Mooney's Market & Emporium

Every day leading up to the Tour, we're going to feature a different 2024 Yarn Tour Destination on the blog! Read about each shop in their own words, take a virtual tour, and get excited for your fiber adventure! Today we travel to Monteagle to get to know Mooney's Market & Emporium.

Mooney's is housed in a restored roadside storefront that was built in 1939. The building was saved from demolition and nothing was changed. We just restored what had deteriorated and kept original its charm. The front room of the shop was a general store, and all the other rooms were the residence of the proprietors' family.

Today, Mooney's lives up to its name as an emporium. We feature a natural foods grocery, books, plants, antiques, and hand made items. Located within Mooney's is our luxury yarn shop, Yarn Over the Moon. We focus on locally dyed and handspun yarns as well as popular and obscure brands of natural fiber yarns and accessories.

We ALWAYS look forward to meeting fellow yarn lovers. We love to see what you've made, what you're making and what you plan to make.
